Mrs. Stevens and I are so excited to have you as a part of our classroom community! We can't wait to see where this year will take us!

About Ms. Mathis

Hello! This is my third year teaching at HES, and I couldn't be happier to be a part of this wonderful school community. Before joining the staff here, I taught first grade in Wake County. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and I am a HUGE Tar Heel fan! I am a North Carolina native, and I have lived in various places across the state throughout my life. I consider Mills River, NC (near Asheville) to be my hometown. Some of my favorite things include reading, traveling, penguins, the beach, hot tea, and (of course) working with kids!
